5th September 1939 Ausweis für Rückgeführte 5th September 1939 Ausweis für Rückgeführte 1/1 Identification card for repatriated persons. Issued by the NSDAP in Gau Thüringen, Regional District of Erfurt. Featuring the facsimile signature of Deputy Gauleiter Heinrich Siekmeier. Ref: 05.09.1939 - 29/79 ID card for those returned from the Thuringia Gau of the NSDAP. State of Thuringia/ Reg.Bez. Erfurt. Issued to Maria Schaefer, born on 26th December 1897. The owner of the ID card was evacuated from her home community in Saarland to the so-called 'Bergungsgau Thuringia' shortly after the start of the war because of the threat of French attacks. Cards of this type served the evacuees as ID cards in the 'repatriation' areas. The Saar Offensive is the name given to the French assault on western Germany from September 7th–16th, 1939. In September, 1939, German forces were largely concentrating on fighting and defeating Poland, which at that stage was still an active adversary. While they were so engaged, French soldiers made a somewhat hesitant advance on to German soil. The attack was not a success, and by the end of the month, the French forces had been withdrawn. Mi.19-21 (April 1946) Mi.19-21 (April 1946) 1/1 Cover sent from Spremberg to Dresden featuring Spremberg unofficial stamps and a 'Deutsche Post' Mi.915 (a or b?). Ref: 30.03.1945 - 9/67 Problems with this cover: According to Michel this Spremberg (unofficial) issue, became available in April 1945. The date cancellation states 30th March 1945. To the reverse of the cover is the received cancellation from Dresden-Bad Weisser. This reads 13th May 1945 (although the envelope flap breaks the date, making it difficult to read). Therefore, it's most likely a cancellation error at the originating post office. These stamps should note be confused with Mi.17 (8 Pf + 1 M) and Mi.18 (12 pf + 1 M), both of which were valid until the 31st March 1945 and are almost identical to Mi.19-22.
