Parcel label (detached) sent from Chemnitz to a soldier at FPN 17468 (Heavy Artillery Division 816: the feldpost number appears to date the label in early/mid 1942. In the winter of 41/42 the detachment was deployed around Rzhev - possibly Khoroshevo, Kowalevo, Zaytsevo). Featuring a permission stamp for feldpost packages (Mi.1 A - perforated). Ref: 16/6

The 603rd Economic Motor Transport Regiment z.b.V. was formed on 30 October 1941 by Military District VII from the Lauterbach Special Staff, which had been established on 23 September 1941. The regiment was organised into four battalions comprising a total of 12 companies. On 11 November 1941, the regiment was renamed the Economic Motor Transport Brigade z.b.V. 1 and reorganised. The brigade staff commanded Economic Motor Transport Regiments 603–606 on the Eastern Front. The brigade was subordinate to the Economic Road Transport Service East in Warsaw. On 1 May 1943, it was renamed the Economic Road Transport Brigade z.b.V. 1. On 30 April 1944, the brigade staff was disbanded.
