ANOMALY

The cancellation date on this set of overprinted stamps can be 1st September 1939 (configured 'DANZIG/ DER FÜHRER/ HAT UNS BEFREIT/ 1. Sept. 1939'). The stamps were only valid from 28th September 1939, yet this cancellation was used for three months without its date changing.
