Cover addressed to Herr Walter Heinrich, Leipzig N 22, Bleichertstraße 24, franked with the 12+38 Pfennig 10 Jahre WHW 1933–1943 commemorative issue. The reverse bears a coloured shield prominently inscribed “Bouman”. Independent philatelic evidence identifies a Felix Bouman of Halle (Saale) as a known stamp collector during this period; surviving wartime philatelic correspondence addressed to him is recorded, and his name subsequently occurs in specialist philatelic literature. It is therefore highly probable, though not yet conclusively proven, that Felix Bouman was the sender of this cover.
