Official feldpost cover sent from the 'Wehrbezirkskommando' (Military recruiting subdistrict headquarters), München II to Major d.R.z.V. Dr. Hans Loibl. Ref: 22.06.1944

d.R.z.V. explanation

d.R. = der Reserve

z.V. = zur Verfügung

'Available to the reserve'

Prior to the war, these were reserve officers under the age of 35. During the war this included all reserve officers.

When Hans Loibl was called up to active status, his rank would appear in all orders, records and documents as 'Major (d.R. or d.R.z.V.)'. Reserve Officer pay was the same as other officers of their rank while on active duty.
