Amtsblatt des Reichspostministerium (Berlin), No.94, p.599, 15th October 1943. A part torn sheet stating, 'They gave their lives in loyalty to the Führer and the Reich', below which are identified employees of the Reichspost, their postal occupation alongside their military rank or reason for death. Also included are auxiliary occupation, i.e. Sophie Heinen, a cleaning lady killed during an air raid on Rheydt (in the Bomber Command War Diaries (Middlebrook,1990), it is noted that an air raid was launched by the RAF against Möchengladbach and Rheydt on 30th-31st August 1943. In the German report following the raid on Rheydt the only building mentioned by name was the town's telegraph office). Ref: 22/95
