Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia — official industrial correspondence from the Direktoren-Konferenz des Ostrauer Steinkohlenrevieres (Directors' Conference of the Ostrava Coalfield), Mährisch-Ostrau, to retired Senior Technical Councillor Ing. Jaroslav Unzeitig at Prague-Smíchov, May 1942. The communication, dated 12 May 1942, concerns a payment of 30,000 Protectorate crowns transmitted through the Prague Postal Savings Bank and requests confirmation that the amount had been credited. The Directors' Conference was a long-established organisation of the important Ostrava–Karviná coalfield, originating in 1888 and concerned with matters including coal and coke production, employment, wages, industrial relations and technical administration. The document closes with the compulsory/formal “Heil Hitler!” salutation characteristic of official and business correspondence under German occupation. It was subsequently mailed from Mährisch-Ostrau using 40h + 40h + 30h Bohemia and Moravia definitives.
