Note from Michel, Germany Specialised, Vol.2: 'All the stamps in the 'linden leaf and fruit' design (photogravure) were printed from plates assembled from vertical strips of ten. Thus the individual vertical rows all have the same small differences. Because adequate sheet material is available that creates the possibility for an interesting specialisation.'
