Official postcard from the NSDAP Kreisfilmstelle, Kreisleitung Chemnitz, postmarked 24th August 1941, to Party member Albert Langenhahn, Chemnitz. The reverse concerns the distribution to schools of the 1940 Tobis documentary Fallschirmjäger, a 31-minute film depicting the training and combat preparation of German paratroopers. The Kreisfilmstelle informs Langenhahn that it possesses only one copy, expects exceptionally heavy demand and therefore requires immediate booking for a specified day; significantly, it orders that the film must under no circumstances remain in any school for longer than one day. The card provides direct contemporary evidence of the NSDAP's organised distribution of military-themed films through its district film apparatus and their circulation within German schools, in this instance only three months after the highly publicised German airborne invasion of Crete.
