The word 'Stahlrohrmöbel' translates as 'tubular steel furniture' and most likely represents the works at L & C Arnold in Kempden. There in the 1920's the company worked with steel tubes as a construction element of furniture, particularly shaping the chair design of the avant-garde of that time.

Whilst not specifically manufactured by L & C Arnold, the iconic tubular furniture of the time is exemplified in the design of Marcel Breuer and the 'Wassily Chair'
