ABP Munich: Machine Stamp

Italian POW mail from No.27 Camp (India) to Trieste. Featuring ABP Munich machine stamp (DPM1.1) and ABP Vienna machine stamp (GPM1.6). Ref: 21.10.1943



ABP Munich Machine Stamps (Maschinenprüfstempel) and variations


HL:DPM1.1/137 - Six black horizontal lines (22mm top to bottom), ø29mm. Note: This is the only maschinenprüfstempel used by ABP Munich and is scarce. It was coloured either red or black. Ref: 21.10.1943
Similar but not the same. The eagles left wing tip not quite in the same position. However, the cover is from the same correspondent (India to Italy via German censors), and does have a ABP Vienna hand stamp (HL:GD1.3.4) and thereafter an ABP Munich machine stamp (HL:DPM1.1 in red). Requires further research. Ref: 16.12.1943
