Dear Madeleine,

Many thanks for your letter with the good wishes. I hope you have got the parcel we sent you. We have been so sorry to have written so late. I am awfully proud of being eighteen now! It would be very nice if you could meet Muck in London. I hope it will go. Please excuse my only writing a card. I have to answer still a lot, and I don’t think I will. Loll and I have been very busy cutting bushes in the garden. Today Mammi left for Cannes, to see Deidi. We haven’t seen any good films here. In Munich I saw “Broadway Melody 1938” and I liked it quite.
