Stamps first issued on 26th August 1934 to celebrate the Saar Plebiscite on 13th January 1935. Note: The stamps were first available on the occasion of the Fidelity to the Saar demonstrations on Ehrenbreitstein in Coblenz and in Cologne (on 26th August) and then at remaining post offices on 28th August.
